Your new role
On offer is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor to join the Maintenance and Engineering team at their western Sydney facility. In this role, you will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to manage plant maintenance by prioritising work requests, controlling costs, and ensuring high-quality work. You will lead and support your team to complete all tasks efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the maintenance program, including preventative maintenance, corrective actions, and handling breakdowns.
- Promptly responding to work requests and efficiently allocating resources.
- Selecting vendors for part purchases, negotiating prices, and placing orders as needed.
- Identifying maintenance trends and reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
- Responding to call-outs and assisting in breakdowns to ensure the plant's daily operational status.
- Minimising production disruptions by scheduling work requests and activities effectively.
- Supervising contractors in line with our contractor management plan.
- Evaluating current work practices and identifying areas for improvement.
I am looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor who thrives in a dynamic role where each day is unique. Strong communication skills and sound decision-making are essential. Your ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changes will be crucial in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Trade Certificate (mechanical or electrical), with hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing company, ideally one within a continuous manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with a computerised Maintenance Management System, ideally SAP.
- Focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to think quickly, clearly, and logically while meeting deadlines.
- Confident communication skills at all levels.
- Experience in an FMCG production environment is advantageous but not required.
- It would be beneficial if you have worked in a chilled/refrigerated manufacturing site before.
