Facilities Management Officer - Sport and Recreation

About this opportunity
Council's Maintenance and Operations team are looking for a suitably qualified officer to join their team in the position of Facilities Management Officer - Sport and Recreation. This is an integral role that will play part in the development and delivery of strategic and operational programs and initiatives, including the development of Sport and Recreation infrastructure and planning projects in the Scenic Rim.

As our Facilities Management Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop strategic partnerships with Sport and Recreation clubs, organisations, peak sporting bodies, government and other key stakeholders to enhance Sport and Recreation opportunities for the region.
• Assess, evaluate and oversee community facilities lease agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions to achieve program outcomes
• Prepare reports, apply for and report on external funding opportunities for Sport and Recreation infrastructure and planning projects.
• Partner with schools, community groups, Sport and Recreation clubs and other key stakeholders to increase access to Sport and Recreation facilities within the region.
• Engage and partner with various committees, working groups and other key stakeholders to identify high priority Sport and Recreation opportunities that influence local investment in the region.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the Scenic Rim Sport and Recreation plan.
• Deliver sporting and Recreation outcomes identified in the Scenic Rim Sport and Recreation plan and other associated Sport and Recreation documentation.

About you

We are looking for someone with a positive, outcome-focused attitude, who enjoys being part of a hard working team.
To succeed in this role, you will require;

• A tertiary qualification in Business, Sport and Recreation with substantive experience in Sport and Recreation facility management and planning.
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects, including monitoring budgets, managing timeframes and achieving project outcomes and objectives.
• Current Class C (Standard) Drivers Licence
• Thorough understanding of local, state and federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources of funding.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Sport and Recreation planning principles, trends and emerging issues
• Demonstrated knowledge of community planning frameworks that contribute to strong strategic planning.
