Facilities Supervisor - Building Fitout Contracts

Axxin Pty Ltd wish to employ a Facilities and Contracts supervisor to assist the company with fit-out upgrade and maintenance of a 3200m2 building, with office and laboratory spaces in Heidelberg in preparation for an Axxin move in 2025.

This role is located at the Heidelberg site and you will also have activities in supporting staff at the existing Fairfield Building in preparation for the upcoming company move later in the year.

Axxin is a growing Australian technology company with global projects developing platforms and products for biomedical diagnostic applications.
Based in the inner Melbourne suburb of Fairfield, you will be part of a team development environment creating leading edge medical instrument designs, hardware and software.

The Role:

The Axxin Facilities Supervisor, is a full time role where you will be responsible in coordination with our management team, in setting up specifications, identifying contractors, receiving quotations and managing contractors, suppliers and trades to complete the building fit out works.  This work will include contract services such as electrical, painting, lighting and HVAC, landscaping, flooring, data cabling, CCTV and security access services. 

This is a very practical role, where you will be onsite to supervise access, works and contractors.  The role requires the successful candidate to have good verbal and written communication skills including documentation for planning specifications, reporting and building records. 

Key Duties:

• Reporting to and liaison with the Axxin management team.
• Preparing specifications and scope of work documents.
• Identifying suitable suppliers, conduct onsite reviews and receiving quotations.
• Supervision of contractors and trades on a daily basis.
• Supervise other Axxin employees  operating or  assisting onsite.
• Supervise contracts and  payments authorisations working with the companies management team and accounts group.
• Planning, administration and scheduling or works activities.
• Ensure that contractors are engaged to uphold Health & Safety and fire safety responsibilities and completing OH&S reports.

• Judgement to request assistance and call in team members when required.. 
• Previous experience in facilities or building supervision activities.
• Contract management experience.
• Hold a valid Driver’s Licence
• Proficient with Microsoft software products.
