Factory Supervisor - Glass & Glazing Industry

Join our dynamic team at Festival Glass & Glazing, a market leader in the flat glass industry in South Australia.  Established in 1988, we specialise in high quality glass solutions for the commercial and retail sector.  Due to an upcoming overseas move for one of our valued team members, we are now seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Supervisor to oversee our day-to-day production processes.

Working closely with our Production Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the efficient operation of our day-to-day production processes. Overseeing a small team of four, you will be on the workshop floor, co-ordinating workflow, problem solving and ensuring production targets are met.

Your responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Production Manager to assess daily production needs and targets.
• Supervise and co-ordinate daily production activities, including assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to meet production goals. 
• Use of our suite of state-of-the-art glass cutting and processing machinery to assist in the cutting and processing of glass products.
• Train, mentor and motivate other production team members to optimise their performance and maintain a positive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations to promote a safe working environment for all team members.
• Monitor quality control procedures to ensure that finished products exceed customer expectations. 
• Collaborate with other departments to address issues and optimise efficiency.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance productivity. 
• Assist with regular plant and machinery maintenance.
• Monitor inventory levels, production output and employee performance.
• Assist customers with orders and collections at our pick up counter.
• Entering data and updating statuses in our ‘Smart Glazier’ software system.

Your skills and experience:

• Proven experience either in the glass and Glazing Industry, or in a supervisory role in a similar industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate and delegate tasks to team members.
• A strong sense of empathy and respect for your fellow team members.
• Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• A commitment to safe working practices.

This role will be ideal for someone with glass or glazing experience who wants to take a step forward into a supervisory role, or a candidate who may already have supervisory experience and be looking to establish new skills in a new industry.  This is a full time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, with hours expected to be 7.30am - 4.00pm or equivalent, with some occasional overtime as required.
