Position Description:Family Relationship Services - Internship
Key outcomes to be achieved by the Family Relationship Services - Internship are:
- to provide support to the Generalist Intake Worker and the Group Work facilitator.
- The Intern will support the Generalist Intake worker ensuring all clients receive a co-ordinated and seamless pathway to the most appropriate service or services.
- The Generalist Intake Worker and Intern will engage with and provides initial screening, assessment, suggested service matching and referral for clients.
- The position provides a coordinated response to clients, potential referrers, and community network professionals either electronically, by telephone or in person.
- The Group work intern will support and cofacilitate with the group work facilitator to explore and deliver evidence-based group work programs to people who have separated from their partner.
- Group work assists parents to explore the impact of the separation, develop strategies and learn new skills that will support the family towards a brighter future.
- Using evidence-based group programs, parents will enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence to develop a better understanding of the separation process for the family unit.
- parents will develop and learn specific parenting skills aimed at supporting their children to build a secure parenting base following separation.
- A person employed as a Family Relationship Services – Intern must be studying a Social Work degree and be in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year.
- A current driver’s licence, a willingness to travel, and preparedness to be accommodated overnight when required.
