Position: Family Support Team Leader
Location: Roebourne, WA
Remuneration: $100,000 t0 $110,000 p/a
Award: Social, Community, Home Care and Disbability Industry Award 2020, Level 6
About the Position: The Family Support Team Leader will be responsible for the creation and implementation of service stream and reports to the General Manager NBAC.
The Family Support Team Leader will work in partnership with Human Service providers within the region and stakeholders to create and embed a new Family Support network which is a local area network of Family Support services that can offer support to families. This program will provide a common entry point for families and other support services, who are needing assistance but do not require the intervention or involvement of tertiary services such as child protection.

About You: We are looking for an individual who has the leadership, passion, initiative and experience to implement this program. Ideally you will have worked with Indigenous communities and diverse groups and have a thorough understanding and respect of Cultural protocols.
Essential:
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families;
- A relevant degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline with substantial experience is preferred. Alternatively, combination of equivalent level of study and experience, including Aboriginal people with lived and professional experience will be considered;
- Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in working with vulnerable children, young people, and families and a developed knowledge and understanding of the impact of trauma and working in a trauma informed way
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation, written, verbal and computer skills
- Demonstrated capacity to develop collaborative working relationships across professional and organisational boundaries to create and maintain the new Pilbara Early Diversionary Network
- Demonstrated team building capacity and experience in providing leadership and supervision for staff and a strong commitment to Aboriginal recruitment, development, and retention
- Understanding and commitment to the objectives and values of the organisation and a capacity to represent MacKillop views as required by the role
- Willingness and ability to travel to other locations and across the Pilbara as required
- Current WA Driver Licence, capacity to travel daily to Roebourne and surrounding areas;
- Provide a current National Police Clearance (within 6 months) and Working With Children Check
