Farm Overseer

At The Lucas Group, we connect talent with top-tier agricultural opportunities. Right now, we're teaming up with a leading-edge Tasmanian farm to find an innovative Farm Overseer. This role is your chance to join an operation renowned for its state-of-the-art practices and deep community ties.
Our client's property spans 1,000 ha of stunning, highly productive Tasmanian countryside, running 5,500 Xbred sheep for prime lamb production.
Key Responsibilities of Your New Role:

• Strategically drive farming operations to meet (or exceed) production targets through animal husbandry and pasture renovation plans.
• Implement animal husbandry practices in conjunction with Lifetime Ewe Management principles
• Craft and execute financial and operational strategies to meet and exceed business goals.
• Plan seasonal farm activities, utilising the latest farming techniques and technologies.
• Lead staff and contractors whilst promoting a culture of safety and respect, ensuring everyone goes home safe and happy.

The Perfect Farm Overseer Will Be:

• Experienced, with at least 5 years in agriculture, making sheep grow is in your DNA.
• A natural leader, with a knack for guiding teams to success and setting a stellar example.
• Tech-savvy, and comfortable with the latest farm management software and tools - think Agriwebb, Smartsheets, etc.
• A problem-solver, able to make timely decisions and ready to tackle challenges head-on with outstanding planning and organisational skills.

You'll also need to hold a current and valid unencumbered driver's licence.
