Shangri-La Sydney is looking for skilled and experienced customer service agents to join the Reservations team of Shangri-La Sydney.
About the Role
To cheerfully and promptly manage all guests external and internal, incoming and outgoing calls as well as assure accurate and expedient service to all hotel guests, patrons and colleagues.
- Flexible with rostering needs and is prepared to work any shift.
- Answer all incoming calls promptly and pleasantly and assure that the appropriate response is made.
- Deal efficiently and courteously with all guest requests by monitoring and following up with the appropriate colleagues and using the correct channels.
- Perform all tasks assigned according to established policies and procedures – Telephone Services, guest requests and general information.
- Have complete and thorough knowledge of Alcatel system; OPERA Property Management System; Sevenrooms, Book360 and Service 360.
- Be familiar with the Hotel’s various food and beverage outlets and facilities, able to take reservations as well as use Sevenrooms.
- Be familiar with the seating capacity, seating plan, outlet layout, high demand and least demand tables in Altitude and Blu bar.
- Be aware of dining restrictions in terms of dress code, entry ages, block-out dates, and special events of the respective outlets.
- Be well aware of the Shangri-La Circle Program and all related terms and conditions.
- Able to take details and check availability for group bookings for Altitude, passing them to the Food and Beverage reservation agent as soon as possible for their action.
- Have the ability to anticipate guest’s needs in terms of special occasions, special dietary requirements, allergies, VIP’s dining etc.
- Maintains a list of all updated promotions & food and beverage menus of Altitude & Blu bar.
- Be familiar with knowledge of Sydney city and be able to assist guests with basic requests.
- Be familiar with all hotel emergencies and fire procedures as well as with city emergency telephone numbers and services; assure that efficient and effective communications are maintained during emergency situations by following established procedures.

About You
- Passion to deliver exceptional customer service
- Have a can do attitude and be willing to learn new skills
- Excellent communication skills; including both verbal and written.
- Previously worked at a five star hotel in Front office or Reservations environment
- Sound knowledge of Opera PMS or similar reservation system
- Be available to a work a full time rotational roster, including weekends and public holidays.
