About the School of Social Work
Social Work is the College's newest school and was established in 2020. Excelsia offers the Master of Social Work (Qualifying), the Graduate certificate of Social Science and the Graduate Diploma of Social Science. Students can expect to explore subjects such as sociology, psychology, and anthropology, gaining a well-rounded understanding of human behaviour and societal dynamics. Each course emphasises practical applications, ensuring that students develop the necessary skills and competencies for real world Social Work.
About the Role
Primary responsibilities are to:
- Source Social WorkField Education placement opportunities through networking and industry visits.
- Liaise with placement sites throughout the placement period.
- Ensure the administration of placements are operated effectively and efficiently.
- Provide information and administrative support to students across placement and experience.
- Develop internal systems to ensure a coordinated approach to student placements across the program.
- Leverage and use InPlace software for student placement allocations.
- Facilitate student information sessions.
Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:
- Hold a Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (Qualifying) Degree.
- Eligible for full membership of the AASW with post-qualifying practice experience.
Essential:
- An understanding of current and emerging trends in Social Work education and training.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools and previous experience in online education is desirable.
- Evidence of a capacity to contribute to effective administration.
