Field Engineer - Telco

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Field Engineer specializing in installation, commissioning, integration, troubleshooting, and hardware reconfiguration, with a focus on Telecom functions such as Fixed & Mobile networks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of LTE Networks in a RAIL environment, leading tasks related to site maintenance, upgrades, and optimization.
Responsibilities:

• Deployments: Execute all non-centralized activities, focusing on Maintenance & Upgrades for both Telecom (Fixed & Mobile) and non-Telecom functions (Electro/Mechanical & Site).
• Actively contribute as a technical team member to resolve complex problems requiring field support.
• Address complex problems, providing site solutions and ensuring constructability.
• Take responsibility for Telecom or Infrastructure based on specialty/expertise within the assigned area or across the Field organization.
• Install, test, commission, and troubleshoot LTE Networks in a RAIL environment.
• Lead, train, and support 3rd party contractors in the installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of LTE Networks in a RAIL environment.
• Maintain performance levels in compliance with SLA/OLA standards.
• Conduct site testing and acceptance based on established test procedures and plans.
• Support the acceptance of Networks & Sites in the assigned area.
• Handle escalated Deployment matters within the assigned area.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• OH&S training and certification.
• Specific product training on BTS installations, especially configurations.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in 3G or 4G mobile network rollouts & Deployments, projects.

Competencies:

• Radio site installation expertise.
• Audit, reporting, and process management skills.
• Technology and product knowledge (3G/4G RAN, Flexi BTS).
• FAT testing and reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced IP skills.
• Business understanding (Services).
• Quality mindset, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Certifications:

• Working at Heights.
• White card.
• First Aid.
• Full clean Australian driving license.
• Australian Citizen or PR or Visa holder.
