Position: Qualified and Experienced Diesel Fitter
Location: Gladstone (Relocation assistance available for the right candidate)
About the Role:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections, servicing, and both planned and urgent repair maintenance.
- Accurately complete paperwork, including maintenance checklists, risk assessments, and reports.
- Work on a variety of brands for both on-road and off-road machinery.
- Diagnose and efficiently repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Travel to job sites for field work, breakdowns, servicing, repairs, and refueling.
- Assist with general boiler making duties as needed.
- Provide support and guidance to Trades Assistants and Apprentices.
- Adhere to workplace health, safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
Candidate Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering trade certificate or higher qualification.
- Minimum of two years post-trade qualification experience as a Diesel Fitter.
- Current Australian driver’s licence (preferably HR or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle, plant, and machinery operations, including parts interpretation, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proven ability to inspect, report, repair, and maintain heavy vehicles, plant, and machinery.
- Self-motivated problem solver with a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work safely, independently, and collaboratively in a team environment.
