About The Role
Select Plant Australia is currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Mechanic.
This role will be based out of our modern Select Plant Australia – Laverton North Depot on a permanent, full-time basis, servicing our internal and external clientele around the Melbourne region. A company vehicle will be provided for site callouts and required travel.
You will be working on a variety civil construction machinery including excavators, loaders, cranes, telehandlers, power generators and a wide range of civil ancillary equipment.
Using your extensive diagnostic skills, commitment to quality control and safe work practices, our Service Workshop team will support you every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs across a wide range of plant and equipment.
- Identify and requisition parts required to carry out repairs.
- Work in diverse and sometimes challenging environments, including remote or outdoor locations.
- Provide on-site technical support, maintenance and breakdown repairs as required, working efficiently to resolve.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies.
- Carry out high-quality work, up to and above OEM and industry requirements.
- Adhere to all internal and external client's site entry requirements and rules.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and support, & maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors and key stakeholders.
About You
To be considered for the role, you'll need to hold the minimum requirements below:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Heavy/Civil Plant Mechanic (essential)
- Well-rounded diagnostics skills across hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Results-driven, positive attitude and the willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent/similar)
- Australian Driver's Licence - Manual C Class (minimum).
- Australian Construction Induction Card (Blue/White Card).
- RIW Card (advantageous, but not essential).
All candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment medical screening and a national criminal background check.
