The Role
In this role you will be responsible to deliver and maintain D&A services to people residing in the Immigration Detention facility, in Northam WA.
Key responsibilities:
- Assessment and support interventions for individuals with D&A use and concerns
- Administer medications and immunisations as prescribed and/or in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-initiated medication guidelines
- Conducting urine drug screens, vital observations, other clinical tests, and health monitoring for patients with D&A use and concerns
- Conduct initial and periodic clinical assessment of patients
- Support the delivery of opioid substitution treatment program (OSTP)
- To assess, plan and implement appropriate health management
Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Div. 1 Registered nurse
- Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in clinical nursing
- Current First Aid and/or CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Detention or corrections experience desirable.
- Experience in Drug and Alcohol nursing including OSTP dosing of patients – highly desirable
- Full and valid working rights in Australia
