Position Overview: A successful leading energy retailer is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, developing Excel models, and presenting insights to drive strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex financial models in Excel to support forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making processes.
- Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modelling, to identify key business insights and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate financial findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate and timely financial analysis and insights.
- Assist in ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-3+ years of relevant experience in finance, preferably in a Big 4 accounting firm, banking institution, large corporate, or similar environment.
- Strong proficiency in Excel modelling, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and generate actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Prior experience in the energy sector or utilities industry is advantageous.
