Primary Details Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeLocation: SydneyType: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, full timeThe opportunityA great opportunity for a Lead Analyst to join our Group FP&A team. In this role you will be an integral part of the management reporting team; analysing data, producing reports and providing key insights to support effective decision making by the wider business.This will involve manual and system-based manipulation of data, plus presentation of divisional submissions into a format that clearly and concisely outlines the key performance drivers. The successful candidate must have a keen eye for detail and be capable of identifying key messages to be presented, and then generating effective and intuitive written documentation and presentations.Your new rolePlay an active role in driving the development of, and adherence to the Group’s management/performance reporting & analysis outputs, ensuring that they provide quality & fact-based insight into current and future drivers of business performance and comparisons to plans & forecastsWork with the Group and divisional FP&A teams to lift the effectiveness of reporting processes across the GroupEnhance the quarterly Preliminary reporting processes, including the challenge of any assumptions made & opportunities to streamline/systemiseIdentify areas for efficiency and improvement for various analytics and insightsPlease note that for the successful candidate, this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, 2/3 interviews (either face to face or online via Teams) and background checks.About youExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities and an ability to work systematically through complex mattersAbility to interact effectively across a variety of functions and timezones; clearly communicating with all stakeholders and building good working relationshipsFlexible and adaptable, able to succeed within a dynamic, fast-paced environment but also able and willing to get deep into the detail (systems, numbers and strategies)Strong technical background in accounting, finance, statistics or actuarial analysis is highly desirable, together with commensurate tertiary and/or professional qualificationsSignificant user in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word.About QBEWe can never really predict what’s around the corner, but at QBE we’re asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.We’re an international insurer that’s building momentum towards realising our vision of becoming the most consistent and innovative risk partner.And our people will be at the centre of our success.
