Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
As a member of Fortescue’s Green Energy business unit, you will be at the forefront of the fight against climate change. You will play a key role in shaping a sustainable future by working with a dynamic and exciting global Finance team.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a quick but critical thinker, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be passionate about sustainability and have a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the month-end financial statement close process for multiple global business units, including preparation of high-quality balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare accounting entries to reflect the funding of international subsidiaries
Prepare accounting entries to record international payroll
Perform accounting for regular bank clearing
Prepare monthly credit card accruals
Prepare indirect tax accounting for international subsidiaries
Contribute to the development of a robust framework of financial controls, including identification of process improvement initiatives
Participate in the quarterly and annual forecasting processes for multiple global business units
Actively promote a safe working environment
Qualifications and Experience
Actively promote a safe working environment
A tertiary degree in accounting, studying towards a CA or CPA qualification
Understanding of accounting concepts and the elements of a strong control environment
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills are highly desirable
Strong communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines. Flexibility is required to work across multiple time zones.
