CSA Mine is one of Australia’s longest operating copper mines with a history stretching back almost 150 years. At 1.9 kilometers deep, CSA is the second deepest copper mine in Australia and the third highest copper grade in the world. Located near the NSW town of Cobar, CSA Mine employs around 550 people and produces approximately 40,000 tonnes of copper concentrate per year. The ore is mined and processed on site and then transported by rail 700km to the Port of Newcastle for export. CSA Mine was acquired by Metals Acquisition Limited in June 2023.

Job Description

CSA Mine is seeking a skilled Finance and Commercial Manager to become a vital member of our team. This position is based in Cobar and requires on-site presence, with a preference for candidates who have experience in managing stores or similar commercial operations in an on-site environment. Your role will focus on enhancing our financial and Commercial practices, ensuring the sustainable growth and operational efficiency of one of the world's most distinguished mining areas.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Leading the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making for CSA Mine.
• Assisting the General Manager with reporting requirements. 
• Managing and optimising commercial operations, including supply chain, procurement, and inventory management, to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing timely financial reports.
• Collaborating with operational teams to identify commercial opportunities, improve financial performance, and drive business growth.
• Overseeing the management of contracts and agreements with suppliers, contractors, and other external parties.
• Implementing and managing financial systems and processes to improve reporting, analysis, and control measures.

About you:

• Proven experience in Finance and Commercial management, preferably in an on-site or industrial setting.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Experience in managing commercial operations, including supply chain and inventory management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead a team and work collaboratively across departments.
• Knowledge of the mining industry and on-site operational requirements is highly desirable.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

Conditions:

Drive-in drive out (DIDO) or fly-in-fly out (FIFO) from Sydney or Brisbane can also be discussed. Candidates interested in DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependents.
