About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance - Child Youth and Family (CYF), you will partner with senior leaders in our Child, Youth and Family (CYF) services to ensure financial sustainability and robust governance. Focused on partnering with leaders of CYF New South Wales jurisdiction, you will provide financial expertise, insight, analysis, and leadership to enable the CYF businesses to make timely, meaningful, and effective financial decisions and deliver key commercial outcomes.
As New South Wales is the largest and most complex jurisdiction of CYF, you will possess strong influencing and stakeholder management skills to identify improvement initiatives and collaborate with leaders in the business portfolio to drive sustainable change. The role will also support the Head of Finance - CYF to drive continuous improvement and alignment activities across the wider portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head of Finance - Child Youth and Family (CYF) together with CYF senior leadership to: develop and implement short and long-term strategic and operational business plans in alignment with LWB and CYF strategy and purpose; support a culture of service excellence and embedding standards, behaviours and strategies for challenging the status quo and lasting improvements and efficiencies.
- Partner with senior leaders in the business to enable timely, meaningful and effective financial decisions and delivery of key commercial outcomes, including taking a lead role in uplifting the financial literacy of senior leaders and managers.
- Financial lead in the creation of business cases for new business / tender opportunities or remediation of existing business lines.
- Provision of high-level financial information, analysis and insight that demonstrates a thorough understanding of, and contribution to, the achievement of the objectives of CYF services.
- Supporting and assisting in the design of the overall budget, forecast and medium-term financial planning processes and outcomes for CYF as driven by the Financial Planning and Analysis function.
- Delivery of timely and accurate financial and commercial reporting for CYF including designing solutions that leverage key technologies i.e. data visualisation.
- Financial data & process integrity and compliance enhancing the control environment.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary level qualifications in business, commerce, management, or relevant field. CA, CPA or equivalent.
- Experience in a Business Partnering position at a senior level with the ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders within an organisation with a complex, demanding and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated application of strong commercial acumen.
- Experience in developing and implementing short and long-term business plans and strategies within a large organisation.
- Advanced and proven problem-solving skills, and ability to think laterally and strategically.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
