Daimler Truck is looking for a motivated and innovative university student or graduate as our Finance Intern. This internship will provide real experiences and real learning; allowing you to gain valuable workplace experience. This 3-month opportunity to learn and work alongside our dedicated and experienced team of finance professionals will aim to equip you with the skills, knowledge and network you need to accelerate your learning and gain valuable exposure to our brand, values and purpose.
By joining Daimler Truck Australia Pacific (DTAuP) as the Finance Intern, you will have the opportunity to assist the Accounting department with preparing and maintaining timely and accurate financial information to satisfy the reporting needs and decision-making requirements of internal and external users. Located in Mulgrave, this role will require a positive attitude, and motivation to learn and develop new skills. In the spirit of continual growth and development with a specific focus on the future, Daimler Truck Australia Pacific strives to provide an opportunity to assist the next generation of professionals in their developmental journey.
The role:
Reporting to the Manager - Used Trucks Controlling and Transactional Accounting, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in processing & coordinating a high volume of vendor invoices ensuring they are sent to the correct person for approval
- Assisting in the handling of communication between external vendors and Daimler Truck
- Assist in reviewing documents blocked for payment to ensure they are cleared promptly
- Assist in ensuring parts vendors are paid according to agreed payment terms
- Assist in reviewing Parts vendor statements to ensure all invoices are processed
- Ad hoc project and task support as required
Qualifications
Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this role you will be a self-motivated learner with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, you will have a professional attitude and tactful approach demonstrated through your strong communication and presentation skills to colleagues and other internal stakeholders. The successful candidate must have a strong passion for finance and an ability to learn in a fast paced and engaging environment. You will have strong organisational and analytical skills, be confident in working with a diverse team of experienced professionals and be focused on optimising your time here with us at Daimler Truck Australia Pacific.
A passion and desire to gain valuable experience within a real professional setting will be vital in the selection processes. Furthermore, a high attention to detail and a proactive focus on tasks will be invaluable for the successful candidate.
Ideally you will be completing or have completed a finance or accounting related degree. You will be an independent self-starter with an ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. A proficiency in Microsoft Excel, word and Power Point is preferable for the successful candidate.
