AddressCornetts Supermarkets is a large independent retail supermarket chain who own and operate in local communities across Queensland. We are currently seeking an accountancy or business student to join the company in our Support Office at North Lakes. This is a fixed term role, available for the duration of the successful applicant's studies. This position would suit a first year or above, single or double degree student.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Assisting Finance Director with management reporting
- Analysis of sales and expense data
- Assistance in maintenance of large asset register
- Lodging statutory forms
- Other general administration tasks as required
Additional to this, the successful applicant will directly support the Finance Director where necessary on accounting and taxation compliance tasks, developing both technical skills and general business acumen. This position is on a part-time basis, with flexibility for university studies.
The successful candidate will require the following:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Solid knowledge of tertiary level accounting principles and concepts
- Ability to quickly learn how to use accounting software
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Customer service focus
- Experience in a similar role or exposure to accounting software or cloud computing is not necessary but will be looked upon favourably.
