Classic Recruitment is excited to be working with one of the Toowoomba Regions largest employers to assist them in their recruitment of a new Finance leadership role.
Located a short drive from Toowoomba this role would suit a seasoned Finance professional, looking for their next professional challenge. Roles like this in the Toowoomba region are rare and the successful candidate will be a key team member of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the finance and accounting function of the operation including its people (two direct reports), systems and services provided.
- Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure accurate and appropriate information is recorded for analysis and reporting.
- Manage the forecasting and budgeting process, including the preparation, delivery, analysis and reporting.
- Operate and manage the business expenditure including introducing cost management initiatives.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of accounting systems.
- Identify, development, implement and maintain effective controls to ensure financial integrity and if possible, eliminate, or reduce, business risk, including periodic reporting on the effectiveness of those controls and any gaps which may arise.
- Accountable for accurate and timely completion of required financial statements for periodic submission.
- Coordinate and manage information pertaining to tax returns, fringe benefits tax, insurance and risk, capital, and any other accounting or finance related matters.
- In conjunction with the management team development the annual budget, including the preparation of scenarios for departments to consider.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.
- CPA/CA accreditation (desired)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (M3) and Reporting (Power BI) software.
- Strong understanding of fundamentals of effective financial and management accounting processes.
- Ability to apply data analytical techniques to draw conclusions and optimise business performance.
- The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
- Experience in heavy industry / resource operations is desirable.
