Finance Manager - 13 Month Maternity Leave Cover

Our clients are some of ANZ’s largest brands.  Through our systems, operations teams and contractors we provide them with an exceptional customer experience without them needing to invest in the staff or infrastructure needed to provide warranty and after sales support to their products.

Located in our Brendale Office, this role will report directly to the CEO. The Finance Manager occupies a pivotal role in supporting those businesses across Australia, NZ, The Philippines & Malaysia. A diverse range of knowledge or willing to invest in understanding the countries we work with will be an advantage but not necessary.  

The finance Manager will be involved in guiding, mentoring and supporting the Finance Team in their day-to-day functions as well as ensuring the business’ financial obligations and statutory functions are carried out in a professional and effective manner and in accordance with relevant policies and legislation. 

What you will do

• Month End - managing month end including preparation of invoicing, journals,balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of sales, overheads, and headcount, delivering process improvement and cost efficiencies.
• Management Reporting - preparation of monthly management pack for Managing Directors including profit and loss reports, cash flow statements, receivables and payables analysis, and analysis of key performance metrics used to identify growth opportunities and business improvements
• Cashflow Management - weekly cash flow forecasting across the Group, both local and offshore Analysis - monthly client profitability analysis identifying trends in margin movements and opportunities for growth
• Business Development - evaluation of business proposals including new business ventures and future client opportunities
• Budgeting - preparation of annual budgets providing insightful data for sustained business growth
• Client Reporting - monthly product cost reports for clients
• Local payroll - oversee preparation of weekly payroll for 19 Australian staff
• Offshore payroll - monthly review and payment of payroll for 7 offshore staff in Manila and review of payroll for 30 staff (Philippines)
• Payroll Compliance - preparation and filing of monthly PAYG tax and quarterly superannuation filings
• Tax Compliance - preparation and filing of quarterly GST returns in Australia and New Zealand
• Contract Reviews - ad hoc reviews of client, supplier, and employee contracts
• Insurance - management if insurances register, consulting with broker on annual review of insurances and filing annual WorkCover submissions across multiple Australian states
• Statutory Accounts and Tax Returns - supporting Accountants in Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia with the preparation of annual statutory accounts and tax returns
• Accounts Receivable - managing accounts receivable function including preparation of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly invoicing for clients, including supporting schedules
• Accounts Payable - managing accounts payable function including oversight of daily processing of payments
• System Maintenance - Xero administrator of finance software system

About you

• CA or CPA qualified with a minimum 5 years in a similar role
• Strong technical accounting, and analytical problem solving skills.
• Highly organised, and proven experience at multi tasking.
• Strong Stakeholder management
• Ability to manage disputes and performance discussions
• Strong understanding of accounting standards. Ability to grasp complex accounting issues and communicate in a clear and concise manner.
• Hands on person with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work within tight deadlines with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility
• Sound knowledge of Excel
