The Succesful Finance Manager
The newly created position of Finance Manager is a hands-on position leading a small Finance Team and responsible for the planning, reporting and governance activities for three entities. As the 2IC to the Finance Director this role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles with a focus on transactional accounting and offers a fantastic opportunity to join at a time of transformation and growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Effectively lead and manage your direct reports, planning for future business growth.
- Oversee the monthly and annual financial reporting close process, ensuring full compliance.
- Prepare annual financial statutory accounts and lead/manage the annual Audit process.
- Work closely with the Global Finance Teams to ensure full completion of Group Reporting requirements.
- Assist with the creation and monitoring of Budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with management providing financial and commercial insights.
- Assist with the monitoring and forecasting of cashflow through effective management of working capital.
- Ensure full compliance with all Tax Regulations, Payroll Tax, superannuation and Work Cover.
- Lead and oversee the outsourced Payroll process and support HR as appropriate.
- Continually identify opportunities for improvement and the implementation of best practice.
All About You
You will likely be CA qualified, have around 7 years’ accounting experience, (some in a mid to large Public Practice firm in either Business Services or Audit), ideally knowledge and experience in manufacturing, strong commercial awareness with the ability to add value through considered financial analysis and reporting. You will be an intellectually curious person who listens well, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, is resilient and enjoys stakeholder engagement.
You will also be a positive self-starter with the ability to stay on task and deliver to deadlines. Gradual addition of responsibility and mentoring by the Finance Director will put you on a clear path to the role of Financial Controller.
