More Opportunities is looking for an experienced and exceptional Finance Manager to join our team based in Perth and Hobart Office, reporting to the Managing Director. This position is full-time Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm.

The Finance Manager holds a pivotal position within More Opportunities, shaping its financial landscape by offering insights that guide management decisions and strategic outcomes. Armed with financial expertise and strategic insight, they empower the Leadership Team to navigate informed choices, driving the organisation towards its strategic goals and ensuring seamless implementation of the NDIS framework.
This role oversees a range of financial services, from budget planning to payroll management, thereby safeguarding the organisation's financial well-being and operational efficiency. Moreover, the Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in mentoring and nurturing the professional growth of the Business Development Officer, fostering a cohesive and proficient team.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing financial guidance to More Opportunities, collaborating closely with the director to plan and execute strategies effectively.
- Enhancing financial efficiency by establishing clear accountability measures, implementing streamlined systems and processes, and working alongside the director to improve financial operations.
- Analysing complex financial issues to develop actionable strategies and solutions, advising on and assisting in implementing key financial decisions.
- Offering financial expertise in developing well-structured business cases, strategies, and contracts for new priorities, ensuring they align with organisational goals.
- Identifying opportunities for improving financial processes within More Opportunities, leading efforts to enhance efficiency while adhering to relevant regulations.
- Managing day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, overseeing payroll, payments, procurement, and reporting to ensure smooth and accurate functioning.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the business team, emphasizing accountability, learning, and growth.
- Updating and maintaining financial systems, procedures, and data to align with organisational needs and industry standards.
- Providing financial analysis and oversight of More Opportunities financial functions.
- Overseeing networking and business development opportunities collaboratively with the Business Development Officer
Qualifications and experience:
Essential - Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business.
Essential - Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a finance role.
Desirable - Experience in the NDIS sector.
We will consider applicants who have the relevant technical skills for the position but may need some mentoring and external supervision to progress to the higher level.
