Are you the CEO of our latest exciting start-up?VeriQuantix is a new start-up company of UniQuest founded on Quantum Link Verification (QLV) technology developed by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) at the University of Queensland. This unique technology is protected by a provisional patent application and allows the physical integrity of a communication circuit to be continuously monitored to detect tampering, tapping or disruption. VeriQuantix will operate in the fields of telecommunications, private networks, cyber security, financial and defence networks.

Our innovation portfolio has seen the creation of more than 130 start-up companies, and includes Australia’s first blockbuster vaccine Gardasil, the internationally acclaimed Triple P-Positive Parenting Program and superconductor technology used in most of the world’s MRI machines. In 2015, our spinout company Spinifex Pharmaceuticals secured Australia’s largest ever biotechnology acquisition.
This new company requires an enthusiastic and experienced leader who will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s operations including people, financial, functional, stakeholders, workplace health and safety, culture and change leadership outcomes.
The VeriQuantix CEO will be accountable for executing the agreed business plan for the company to:
- Deliver the product development outcomes according to the business plan;
- Develop sales prospects and sales channels such that the developed products achieve expected sales results; and
- Develop partner relationships, acquirer relationships and investor relationships such that by the end of the third year of operation the company will achieve significant sales results and be an attractive acquisition target or investment target.
About You
As the ideal candidate you will have tertiary qualifications and experience relevant to the start-up company/technology ecosystem.
You will have extensive experience in product and business development coupled with experience in interpreting detailed business, investment, financial and legal information pertaining to startup companies.
To excel in this role you will need to be strategic, adaptable, results driven, a problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset. Your excellent communication skills enable you to build positive and professional relationships with a broad range of people (Board, Stakeholders, Investors, Partners, Customers and Staff).
