Canberra based government organisation seeking a Finance manager to perform the day-to-day finance and accounting for a client organisation. Initial 3 month contract with a possible extension. Please note: you must have a baseline security clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of financial management and performance of Departmental, Administered and Capital budgets in alignment with Commonwealth frameworks and legislation.
- Provide input to procurement and budgeting processes.
- Manage information and critical financial records appropriately to uphold compliance with policies, processes, and procedures within the organisation.
- Provide strategic reporting of financial data to inform leadership decisions.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience with Commonwealth government financial frameworks, deep understanding of financial management.
- Experience in Commonwealth government accounting operations (including Budget Build, MYEFO and Movement of Funds).
- Demonstrated ability to manage procurement and contract management processes within the Commonwealth, including knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and related policy, particularly procurement's using Standing Offer Notices and other established arrangements.
- Working knowledge of TM1 - Financial Planning and Analysis.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare finance reports and correspondence.
- Strong commitment to be an effective team member and deliver quality customer service.
- Desirable - Qualifications in accounting, finance, and/or procurement will be highly regarded.
- Must have a baseline security clearance.
