The role
Reporting to the Senior Director, CSFB, your responsibilities include overseeing the development and maintenance of comprehensive policies and procedures governing the end-to-end financial management of the CSFB program budget. As a proactive leader, you will identify and implement improvements in the Branch's finance capability and systems, ensuring alignment with contemporary practices and directives from the Branch's leadership team and Senior Director.
You will play a key role in ensuring quality operational governance within the Branch by actively supporting contract management performance committees, participating in program planning processes, addressing risk management issues, and contributing to business continuity plans, as well as engaging in relevant internal and external audit processes. Cultivating strong working relationships with service providers and key stakeholders will be crucial to the success of CSFB's activities. Your leadership extends to the management and development of staff, overseeing staff induction, performance coaching, and mentoring within the budget and finance team. Providing high-quality financial reporting, timely advice, and direction to the Senior Director and senior leaders within CSFB on historical performance, forecasts, financial risks, and other key financial matters is central to your role. Additionally, you will develop and deliver high-quality analysis and executive-level briefings on finance-related issues relevant to CSFB, fostering effective communication and collaboration across the branch for the integration of contract management and procurement functions with financial operations. Your oversight of budget and financial activities, including the development of annual multi-year consolidated operating budgets and coordination of monthly operating forecasts, will be conducted through contemporary best practice fiscal management techniques.

To excel in this role, you must possess proven expertise in financial, governance, and business management, demonstrating proficiency in overseeing finance, program budgets, and operational processes within the public service. Your capabilities should extend to high-level problem-solving and issue management, highlighting the ability to analyse and integrate information from diverse sources. The role requires judgment, intelligence, and common sense, with a demonstrated capacity to assess complex information, identifying critical factors and issues effectively.
Moreover, you should exhibit highly effective interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing, demonstrating the ability to consult, negotiate, and influence personnel across all levels. Your record of accomplishment should include providing authoritative advice to senior management on a spectrum of complex organizational and financial matters. Additionally, you should bring robust management and leadership capabilities to the table, highlighting your ability to achieve outcomes and foster effective working relationships.
