BACKGROUND
Sweet&Chilli is a leading global drinks agency with headquarters in London, Sydney & Los Angeles. Over our first decade we have earned a reputation for excellence, style & reliability, which has seen the biggest names in the drinks & event industries come to rely on us across our core business functions – brand ambassadors, bar training, event bar operations, drinks consultancy, creative design & production.
In this role you will provide financial management and accounting services for Sweet&Chilli and any related companies reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD) and General Manager (GM) of Sweet&Chilli. You will ensure that all administrative requirements are met and will perform this role in an organised and timely fashion which is consistent with the operating practices of the business, the requirements of the role and in doing so providing support to the relevant team within the organisation.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (this applies to all entities under the Sweet&Chilli Group – 4 entities)
Team Management:
- Lead a team of 4 Bookkeepers based in the Philippines
Financial Accuracy and Compliance:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, reports and transactions
- Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYGW, FBT & Payroll tax, with the support of External Accountants
- Prepare the Year End Accounts for our External Accountants
- Review & present Client Facing Budgets
Business Management:
- End to end accounts receivable: invoice processing and debt collection
- End to end accounts payable: data entry, processing and electronic lodgement of payments and expenditure
- Assist with onboarding new suppliers and staffs, including reviewing service agreements, where necessary
- Regular WIPs with Department Heads
- Management of Assets
- Inter-company loans
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Working closely with the General Manager and department heads, assisting in the budgeting process to develop realistic and accurate budgets
- Monitor budget variances, analyse financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision making
- Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost control and reduction
- Implement and monitor cost savings initiatives to optimise operational efficiencies
Financial Reporting:
- Execute the month-end close process
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual statements
ABOUT YOU:
- Love working in a team environment (preferably have experience with working with offshore bookkeepers)
- Have some leadership and team management experience
- Have a passion for the F&B/Hospitality industry
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA or CA Qualification Preferred (or working towards)
- 3-5 years experience as Financial Accountant or similar role
- Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards & Tax laws
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Xero & Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
