Assist in budget and forecasting process within the finance cost centre, ensuring all times that all statutory accounting requirements and local tax compliance for Brenntag Australia and New Zealand activities are accomplished and compliant.Reporting
- Prepare and close the monthly reporting on time and in full compliance with the Corporate Reporting Guideline and Accounting Standards
- Prepare, review, and oversee the collation, analysis, consolidation, and submission of all financial and management information (ensuring the information and reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner and are compliant with relevant accounting and taxation principles) including:
- Statutory Accounts
- Management reports and analysis
- Prepare and manage corporate reporting of financial results (SAP, Regional/Group Reporting, OneHFM/OneStream, GTC, SAPSEM)
- Oversee and maintain compliance with internal and statutory audits
- Assist with annual budgets and forecasts and capital expenditure plans for the finance cost centre
- Participate in and support ad-hoc projects which may arise from Regional Finance
- Manage key external financial stakeholder relationships
- Oversee all tax matters for the ANZ legal entities, preparation of tax returns, hand tax audits (if any) together with external advisors
- Strong experience and maintain a good working knowledge and awareness of accounting and taxation principles in Australia and New Zealand and other areas of operation and providing reports and information as directed
- Maintain appropriate financial policies and procedures to ensure the ANZ business remains compliant with Brenntag's accounting practices and statutory financial regulations
- Provide advice and act as the liaison between ANZ management and legal and insurance representatives of the Group for all legal and insurance operational requirements
- Close collaboration with the shared service centre for excellence and on time reporting, including harmonizing towards global processes
- Oversee the management of the treasury and risk functions relevant to the Country level including but not limited to:
- Reviewing cash flow forecasting, ensuring the cash flow position of the various entities are in a satisfactory position
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners and Regional Treasury
- Maintain relationships with Financial Institutions to establish necessary credit facilities in coordination with Regional Treasury
- Manage insurance matters for ANZ encompassing:
- Marine/Cargo
- Public & Product Liability
- Industry Specific Risk (ISR)
- Motor Vehicles
- Manage Bank Guarantee requests in collaboration with Regional Treasury
- Manage the ANZ Business' Risk Reporting Register ensuring all identified risk management anomalies are rectified and processes implemented in line with Corporate and Regional requirements and timeframes
- Sanction check compliance on all suppliers and customers
- Provide day to day supervision and support to the Finance Team
- Work cohesively with internal/external stakeholders ensuring a customer centric culture is achieved
- Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of a high performing team, ensuring personal and professional development is maintained

- Arrange regular catch ups with the team, ensuring they have the resources and training required to perform in their roles

- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CA/ CPA Qualified, minimum 3-5 year in an equivalent managerial position
- Strong experience in tax, financial management / statutory reporting essential
- Experience in team management and driving change
- Experience in the chemical or similar industry advantageous or medium to large organisation, preferably with international matrix reporting line
- Advanced Excel and Experience in SAP and Hyperion (HFM) is mandatory
