The Opportunity

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and commercially savvy Finance Manager to join our Australian operations. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be a key player in our Head Office Finance team. Your responsibilities will be pivotal, involving the provision of essential financial data, advice, reporting, and insights to drive and accelerate our business's performance throughout its transformation journey. This role covers every phase of our transformation initiatives—from initial design and financial assumption testing to impact monitoring and ensuring our transformations deliver the desired financial outcomes. If you're someone who thrives in challenges and aims to make a substantial difference within a top-tier healthcare organisation, this position is tailor-made for you. Please be advised that this position is a 24-month contract opportunity.

What you’ll do

  • Serving as the central finance contact for key stakeholders in Ramsay Business Transformation, including the Australian Executive Team, Transformation Office, Stream Leads, and Business Operations stakeholders. This involves conducting stage gate assessments of initiatives to determine expected financial benefits in terms of size and timing.
  • Taking ownership of the financial perspective on how aggregated Transformation investments and benefits impact Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and cash flow, ensuring alignment with the budget and corporate plan.
  • Collaborating closely with Head Office Finance to procure data and conduct analyses that support transformation initiatives and delivering pertinent reporting.
  • Providing timely and precise evaluations of the financial implications of transformation initiatives, and elucidating deviations from forecasted benefits, such as those influenced by external factors versus transformational efforts.
  • Identifying new potential areas for Transformation efforts through data analysis and making adjustments to Transformation targets when budgetary assumptions are jeopardised.
  • Offering support to Operations and Transformation stream leads to enhance their comprehension of the financial drivers behind transformation performance, facilitating effective execution.

What you’ll bring

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate substantial commercial acumen, expertise in financial assessment of transformation initiatives, strong technical finance skills, effective leadership abilities, and the capacity to cultivate robust, positive, and professional relationships with both remote and on-site teams.

Key skills and experience you bring to the role include:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse financial and operational data, generate valuable insights, and collaborate effectively to enhance business performance, preferably within a transformational context.
  • 5+ years in accountancy/finance management, accompanied by CPA, CA, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven capability in making informed decisions and communicating clearly and succinctly with diverse stakeholders.
  • Skilled at adjusting communication approaches and work methods to align with various stakeholders, ensuring effective results and outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in utilising Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Previous exposure to managing and utilising sophisticated accounting software and financial models.
  • Demonstrated track record of inspiring, motivating, and developing others to achieve high performance, both individually and collaboratively, while achieving personal, team, and organisational objectives.

Desirable but not essential

  • Experienced in financial management within the healthcare sector.
  • Proficient in financial legislation, compliance, and financial risk management frameworks relevant to healthcare environments.
