The role is responsible for supporting initiatives across Consumer Division and Business & Wealth Division, managing project financials, reporting and benefit realisation, and driving process simplification and digitisation. The role focuses on financial management, monthly and quarterly activities, supporting project governance and developing business cases.
It is expected that the candidate will continue to develop an understanding of Westpac's products, technology roadmap, associated metrics, and returns that these products and offers deliver. This requires a good understanding of market/environmental factors and competitive landscape
Some of your responsibilities will include the following:
- Prepare project financial reports and/or project steering committee pack with quality advice to project manager/director and senior management.
- Provide regular project financial updates to relevant stakeholders and forward looking insights to call out any early risks/issues and opportunities.
- Analysis of variables to delivering the project and provide sensitivity to the financials including cash spend, benefits, ongoing opex and P&L impact for various scenarios.
- Adherence of financial processes and Westpac Group accounting policy from the monitoring of the Project/Program business case including project spend, ongoing opex and benefits (hard & soft), timeline, investment governance and assumptions.
- Tracking of actual spend and benefits against plan and forecast, identifying any risks/issues and opportunities to the financial forecast/plan.
- Ensure compliance to enterprise Project Governance and Execution frameworks and methodologies in supporting stable Westpac financial control environment.
- Lead and work with stakeholders to provide robust project financial profiles and forecasts that support forecasting and planning processes, which include responsibility and accountability to validate business assumptions and driver inputs.

What do I need?
- 4 years' experience in financial management, preferably in financial services
- Experience in month end activities and reporting
- Demonstrates good understanding of relevant accounting / regulatory knowledge
- Proven ability to apply knowledge of accounting systems & methodologies
- Strong application of risk policies and controls to Finance processes
- Ability to work through issues and solve problems
