Finance Manager - Capital And Operating Costs

Carnival Australia is excited to announce: We are hiring a Finance Manager – Capital and Operating Costs to join our Finance Team. This full-time permanent position will be based in the Chatswood district of Sydney and report directly to the Senior Finance Manager. Leading a small team of financial analysts for all matters related to Capital and Operating cost management, forecasting and strategic decision making of the P&O Australia brand is the primary responsibility of this position. This role presents an outstanding opportunity for a commercial Finance Manager to oversee the strategic planning process, collaborating closely with the wider finance department and business partners.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Offer insights and suggestions to improve performance.
* Oversee the annual capital, operational, and strategic planning process.
* Oversee the quarterly operational forecast update.
* Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly reports.
* Manage capital expenditure effectively.
* Implement continual process improvements, identifying potential risks or efficiency opportunities, and proposing solutions.
* Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the team to promote continuous improvement.
About You:
You're passionate about understanding the business and finding the connection between the numbers and the story. Your analytical and curious mind, combined with your superior communication skills will allow you to become a trusted business partner sought after by stakeholders for your expert insights and advice. A confident business partner, your strong communication and collaborating skills keeps you at the forefront of all conversations ensuring all areas are investigated to drive the best possible recommendations and business decision making.
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated:
* 7+ years of finance experience in a commercial business environment
* Strong accounting knowledge and the ability to apply.
* Exceptional stakeholder and business partnering skills, allowing you to effectively communicate and manage individuals at every level of the organisation.
* Outstanding analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to organize, manage, and supervise tasks, as well as plan, budget, forecast, and analyse data.
* Proficiency in computer skills, including Advanced Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables, charts, formulas) and PowerPoint.
* Clear and concise communication skills, both in written and verbal formats, with exceptional listening abilities
* The ability to think strategically and understand the impact of decision-making on operations.
* Proficient in EPM/Hyperion or other BI/OLAP tools, with experience in Data Warehouses being of a preference.
* Experience in capital with the ability to develop business cases.
* Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and think laterally with a keen sense for detail.
* CA, CPA, or CIMA certified.
