Your New Team

The Financial Controller, your new manager, started her career in the Big 4. She’s top talent with a focus on developing her team and building an A-Grade finance function for LSKD. You’ll have 4 direct reports consisting of an Assistant Accountant in office and 3 transactional accounting team members offshore.
Your New Role
Based at their head office in Loganholme, reporting to the Financial Controller and working in a team of 7, your role will require diligence, organisation and tenacity. You will be responsible for managing financial operations, developing strategic financial plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Your key deliverables will include:
- Monthly financial account preparation
- Annual financial statement preparation including working notes for general purpose statements
- Interpret and apply financial accounting standards
- Manage the contents of the balance sheet
- Preparation of statement of cashflows
- Involvement in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
- Adhoc financial reports for management
- Lead the team
Again, this role is unique because it will expose you to the entire financial accounting realm. You won’t be sitting there just managing all the costs associated with stationary. You’ll be preparing the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Statement for the entire group. Finally, you’ll also have an Assistant Accountant to personally assist you to perform your role.
Your Experience
First and foremost, your attitude towards teamwork needs to be extremely positive. An understanding and appreciation for working together and the benefits of collaboration will see you succeed in this role. Technically your experience should have covered:
- 6+ years’ experience gathering the full spectrum of accounting skills
- CA / CPA qualification
- Extraordinary written and verbal communication
- Leadership potential
- Advanced Excel ability
- A genuine love of the product
