About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in providing strategic financial direction across the Finance department and the broader organisation. The ideal candidate will drive a significant improvement agenda across finance processes, systems, and ways of working, championing these changes across the business.
This role requires a dynamic and empowering leader who fosters positivity through coaching and mentorship conducive to growth and success, while embodying Housing Choices' values.
About you
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in both public and private sectors, ideally within real estate, property development, public/community housing, or related sectors. They will possess strong leadership and strategic planning skills, expertise in financial management and analysis, and a commitment to fostering ethical behaviour, diversity, and inclusion.
What will help you succeed
- Minimum 5 years + proven experience and successful track record in a comparable role or discipline in private real estate, property development, public/community housing, or transferable sector
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance or business, with CA/CPA qualification required
- Experience in, or ability to quickly acquire skills in preparing business plans and executing strategy
- Experience preparing management, business, statutory, and regulatory-required reporting
- Experience aligning, leading and preparing financial reporting & reviews for CFO, CEO, the Board and its committees providing insights on performance, outlook, and risks & opportunities
- Experience leading & developing long-term financial plans and strategies, providing insights into future financial performance
- Experience in leading and providing strategic direction across Treasury & Commercial Transactions functions
- Experience in systems implementations, notably FP&A / BI tools to enable improved data analysis and decision-making
- Oversight and management of the payroll function
- Track record of developing effective internal relationships and collaborations to advance strategic agendas and achieve outcomes through financial insights and analysis, supporting strategic plans and decision-making

- Provide a current driver’s license and willingness to travel across Housing Choices’ locations, if and as required.
