A position has become available for a permanent full-time Finance Officer to join our friendly team in North Perth. The position requires high bookkeeping knowledge, payroll and accounting systems, a sound understanding of Commonwealth and State Government reporting requirements, and day-to-day business operating functions.

Casson Homes Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation providing supportive accommodation since 1922 for people living with a mental health illness. Our accommodation options range from a private psychiatric hostel, aged care, supported independent living and transitional recovery. We are also an NDIS provider supporting people living in the community.
Key Duties
- Process MYOB daily bank transactions & monthly bank reconciliations
- Check daily bank account balances & cashflow for fortnightly wages and supplier payments - transfer funds where required
- Ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time from DEXT to MYOB through fortnightly reconciliation and payment runs
- Accounts payable queries and new supplier checks & set ups in MYOB
- End of month bank reconciliations, prepayment journals and reviews
- Weekly processing of NDIS support hour invoices
- End of month Commonwealth and State Government funding payments received reconciliations
- Review & reconcile quarterly GST BAS reconciliations and lodgements with the ATO
- Assist in the fortnightly processing of payroll, PAYG payments, end of financial year processing, audits and FBT returns
- Manage and monitor the budget, including resource allocation and deployment of resources to meet priority needs.
- Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and liaise with the management team
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated competency in using databases and Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel and SharePoint
- Able to plan time effectively, prioritise tasks & complete on time and to the expected standard
- Communication is accurate, timely and professional both verbal and written
- Can use required online systems for reporting, communications, rosters, payroll enquiries, policy and protocols
- Digital database system use - HR Central, Nightingale, XBert, Dext, MYOB, Xero (preferred, but not essential)
- Works with kindness, care and compassion for our residents living with a mental health illness and their families
Essential requirements:
- Certificate 4 in Business Administration, Management or Degree qualified ‘Bachelor of Business and/or Accounting’ or related discipline
- 5 years minimum bookkeeping or accounting in a similar role
- Strong financial accounting skills including preparation of accounts to trial balance, financial accounting adjustments, asset accounting, reconciliations etc. financial analysis, budget preparation and departmental reporting and tracking
- Demonstrated ability to be part of a motivated a high performing team
- Right to Work in Australia
- Current Valid WA Driver’s License
- A National Police Clearance
