Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) is an international upstream company engaged in exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas outside the State of Kuwait. KUFPEC Australia is a subsidiary of KUFPEC engaged in the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas activities in Australia mainly through non-operated interests in joint ventures, such as the Wheatstone project.
About the role
KUFPEC Australia is seeking a qualified accountant to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.
The Finance Officer will be supporting financial, joint venture and management accounting and reporting. Additional duties include assistance with preparation of statutory financial statements, processing of joint interest billings (JIBs) and cash calls, preparation of authorisations for expenditure (AFEs) and associated reconciliations and accounting for revenue and production.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, your primary accountabilities will include contribution to establishing, maintaining and controlling KUFPEC Australia’s finance systems with special responsibility for month end accounting. The role is varied and entails joint venture accounting, corporate financial accounting, treasury and reporting.
What we are looking for in a candidate
To be selected for this role, you will be a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or have equivalent professional qualification.
You’ll also have a minimum of three years of experience in the finance sector, preferably in the oil and gas industry or auditing. You’ll be proficient in accounting software (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Prior experience in treasury management, corporate accounting, or joint venture accounting is advantageous. Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance is also important. We are looking for a motivated team player with proven ability to develop strong working relationships. The Finance Officer will have strong commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in financial practices.
