About the role
We are currently seeking a dynamic person with an eye for detail to complement our growing Finance Team in the role of Finance Officer. Based out of our Gold Coast head office (Nerang) and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective preparation of accounts receivable invoices, accounts payable processing, bank reconciliations, data entry, reporting, and liaising with both internal and external clients.
The day-to-day duties include but aren't limited to:
- Bank reconciliations.
- Daily, weekly and monthly aged receivables, aged payables and payment reports.
- Review, verify, sort, code and match invoices with purchase orders.
- Process all supplier/client related documents in accordance with internal procedures.
- Seek appropriate approvals where relevant before processing documentation.
- Assist in weekly payment run activities.
- Assist with month end reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts to ensure invoices are up to date and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues as required.
- Correspond with clients and respond to enquiries.
- Proactively maintain Accounts Receivable processes and report issues to the Financial Controller in a timely manner.
- Assist with internal & external audits where required.
- Assisting with ad hoc tasks as required by the Financial Controller.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge and experience in general accounting practices including GST and high-volume transaction processing.
- Experience with Xero accounting software.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office including excel.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, problem solve and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Previous industry experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Appropriate Australian Working Rights.
