Primarily you will be focusing on accounts payable and receivables, but you will also be asked to do other finance tasks including bank reconciliations, budgeting and costing, month-end processes, processing payroll and ad hoc finance, human resources and operational projects.
The successful candidate will understand processes, have good attention to the detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to ‘get things done’ and have the care and commitment to work with a great team of people to run a not-for-profit business.

YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU HAVE:
- 2 years’ experience in Finance Officer / finance administration roles
- Accounts receivable / payable / banking / general ledger
- Computer skills, MYOB, Google Suite
- The ability to navigate spread sheets & word documents
- The ability to pick up systems and processes quickly
- The desire to work collaboratively in a team within a fast-paced, agile environment
- Solid experience or understanding the community services/not for profit sector
- Problem solving

- BAS, PAYG & ATO transactional reports
- Budgeting & Cash flow
- Profit & Loss statements
- Audit preparation
- Contracts & acquittals
- Monthly report preparation for management & board
- Some HR e.g. understanding award entitlements
This is a part-time role (16 hours per week - flexible across the week) based in our Byron Bay youth centre with some WFH flexibility

Byron Youth Service Inc. (BYS) have been the primary provider of youth services in the Byron Shire since 1987. Located in Northern NSW, BYS is a not-for-profit charitable organisation working with over 2000 vulnerable youth and their families each year. We manage two youth centres and deliver important community support through these venues. We offer a suite of wellbeing and youth culture projects, individual support services and activities that are designed to elevate young peoples’ capacity to move into their adult lives.
