AddressWe are a busy owner-operated transport business requiring an experienced Operations Support Officer to join our team. Our fleet consists of Tilt Trays, Semi’s and Prime Movers towing various machinery and cars locally, regionally and interstate.
This position involves the Co-ordination of our trucks and drivers’ movements ensuring customer requirements are fulfilled efficiently and in a timely manner.
Position Duties (including but not limited to):
- Communicate with Customers and Drivers with regards to job requirements.
- Respond to incoming phone calls & emails for quoting purposes, creating manifests, load planning and job allocations.
- Daily Driver Job Allocation; both pre planned and adhoc as received from customers.
- Ensure Driver job allocations are effective and efficiently time managed.
- Ensure drivers are compliant with company policies including TN360 processes, Fatigue management requirements and Heavy Vehicle Road Rules.
- Assist with Compliance requirements including obtaining Over-size and Over-mass Permits with NHVR and SA Power networks.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Sound knowledge on heavy vehicle road rules and regulations both in SA and interstate.
- Sound knowledge of Adelaide and surrounding areas and approved truck routes.
- Understanding of Trucks and their Load capabilities and permit requirements.
- Experience in dealing with different types of machine, weights and dimensions.
- Ability to work calmly in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills, mainly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
- Heavy Vehicle Licence (desirable)
- Proven experience in the Transport and Logistics space of at least 2 years.
