About Us

Western Private Hospital (WPH), is a boutique private hospital servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services, which has 62 inpatient beds.

WPH’s facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Procedure Unit, Cardiac Unit, Overnight Ward for Surgical, CCU & HDU patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Day Oncology Unit, Specialist Consulting Suites, Nuclear Medicine/PET Centre and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.

About the Role

We have a great opportunity for an individual experienced in all facets of finance from accounts payable/receivable right through to supporting month end processes to join the Finance team and hit the ground running on a permanent part-time basis 3-5 days per week working on-site in Footscray.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role will primarily be responsible for completing day-to-day administration and processing for accounts payable and receivable in addition to providing secondary support to the broader Finance team. The key responsibilities and duties for the role will include (but not be limited to):   

  • Processing all accounts payable invoices in Business Central 365 finance system ensuring invoices are coded to the correct general ledger account following correct approval as per delegation policies/procedures
  • Setting up new creditor details
  • Processing weekly and ad hoc payment runs and ensuring payment terms are met
  • Distribution of remittance advices
  • Reconciliation of creditor and bank statements
  • Process accounts receivable invoices and follow up on outstanding debtors
  • Monitor accounts payable emails and respond to / follow up / resolve queries
  • Scanning / filing / archiving and other administrative and banking duties
  • Assisting with month end processes including bank, credit card and GL reconciliations, calculation of BAS, collation and analysis of data for budgeting and other ad hoc reporting and queries

About You

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant certificate or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or similar field
  • Well-developed knowledge of and at least 3 years’ experience processing and reporting of accounts transactions using accounting software for medium to large sized businesses (Business Centre 365 is desirable)
  • Understanding and general knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong numeracy skills, attention to detail and analytical skills to identify problems and develop practical solutions
  • High level organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision
  • Capacity to work effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate to advanced skills in using Excel spreadsheets (pivot tables, v lookups, etc)
