The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cost of Doing Business Manager to join a dynamic team with a fantastic culture and growth prospects where you’ll be challenged and supported to achieve both personal and business goals. The CODB manager will work with shared services to prepare and report on OPEX and CAPEX budgets. This role will review expenditure for optimisation opportunities in Smokemart & GiftBox to mitigate profitability risks and will lead their team in implementing these optimisation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support our teams on cost of doing business measures and tools to empower them to make financially informed decisions that align with our budgets requirements.
- Produce recommendations for all governance reporting, ensuring alignment with the key cost pillars
- Work closely with corporate finance to prepare and communicate budgets
- Provide recommendations to optimise labour costs, efficiency and the business model
- Monitor operating expenses to ensure compliance with company policies and standards
- Support and execute projects within our teams aimed at simplifying our processes and enhancing the guest experience
- Have an understanding of insurance policies that cover the SMGB business and build operational processes to support this
- Protect the business across all financial loss through a diligent and strategic approach
The Successful Candidate Will Posses
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong business and commercial acumen (within the retail sector preferred)
- Willingness to undertake and complete development activities as nominated by SMGB
- Ability to plan, be organized, communicate effectively and meet competing priorities
- Be approachable, engaging & build relationships with key stakeholders
- Solid working knowledge of all Microsoft office applications, Excel, Power BI
