The role
Pembroke is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced individual to fill the full time, fixed term position of Finance Support Officer. As the Finance Support Officer, you will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient financial functions across the School throughout an18 month period where a range of project work and Finance Support will be undertaken.
Reporting to the Business Manager, the Finance Support Officer will work closely with the Business Operations team supporting the Finance Manager, Accountant, Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff as needed.
What the role will involve
The Finance Support Officer will:
- Assist in the preparation of payroll.
- Assist in the month end and year end accounting process.
- Assist in the preparation of external surveys for review.
- Assist and provide coverage for all members of the Business Operations team when on leave.
- Assist Payroll, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable personnel when required in times of peak workloads.
- Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement and driving efficiencies.
What we are looking for
Ideally, the successful candidate will:
- Hold qualifications in accounting, commerce and/or business.
- Have at least two years’ experience in a professional finance and accounting support role.
- Have knowledge of accounting and procurement systems and processes.
- Have knowledge of accounting principles, federal legislation, ATO guidelines and legislation.
- Have knowledge of and experience in accounting and MS Office software.
- Have exceptional organisational skills, multi-tasking skills and high attention to detail.
- Have the ability to analyse, interpret and accurately report on, and present, financial data.
- Have high level written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
- Be self-motivated, reliable, confidential, trustworthy, proactive and adaptable.
