About the role

Sustainable Timber Tasmania, a leader in sustainable forest management, is seeking a Finance Team Leader to lead our Finance Team. In this key role, you will leverage strong communication skills, strategic decision-making and sound financial management to support the Finance Manager and lead the Finance Team in achieving financial sustainability for the business. 

This role is based in our Hobart Office and there may be some intrastate travel required.

This is a fixed-term, full-time position. The fixed term is 18 months, with the possibility of extension.


About you

Importantly, as the Finance Team Leader you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting from a recognised institution or its equivalent.
  • Membership of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills including well developed oral and written communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, together with the ability to establish and manage relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve results in an environment of change, ambiguity and pressure.
  • Experience in preparing and communicating financial information to a broad range of stakeholders;
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills with experience in managing and supporting employees.
  • Proven high-level financial management financial reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary financial management practices in accounting, reporting and budgeting including professional knowledge of contemporary accounting principles.
