IP Generation
IP Generation is an investor and boutique fund manager of commercial real estate which employs a management intensive, private equity style approach to acquiring and running its portfolio of investments.
IP Generation currently manages in excess of $1.5 billion of assets across a mix of office, development and retail property.
IP Generation’s mandate is to identify assets in which it has strong conviction in the ability to generate asymmetric returns – i.e. where the upside return potential is judged to be greater than the downside risk.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to expand the establish finance team with the addition of a Financial Accountant to assist in that growth.
Role Responsibilities
Accounting/Reporting
- Implementing a robust timetable of monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.
- Posting monthly trust journals to reflect debt, intercompany transfers, distributions, prepayment, and accrual adjustments – determining appropriate accounting and tax treatment (eg. Asset capitalisation) as required
- Investigate, analyse and consolidate data provided by the property managers to provide insight on each of the Trusts performance.
- Calculation and preparation of monthly property management fees for each Trust.
- Maintenance of fixed asset registers for each of the Trusts
- Assist with preparation of End of Month Pack (including Balance Sheet Reconciliations) for each Trust to support key balances.
- Working with various stakeholders both internal and external to prepare, analyse and complete month-end processes and reporting in a timely manner across each of the Trusts.
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and reports for each of the Trust.
- Preparation of Business Activity Statements, Bank reconciliation, general ledger management and fixed asset register management for each of the Trusts
- Assist with financial investor enquiries or investor tax statements across each of the Trusts
- Liaising with asset management team on new leasing, collection of information, calculation of incentives to be accounted for correctly in accordance with the accounting standards
- Support the Funds Management team for monthly variance analysis to budget/forecast for each of the Trusts
- Support the Funds Management team for the management and monitoring of ongoing cash flow requirements for each of the Trusts
- Support the Funds Management team to provide analysis of various future leasing options & analysis of supplier tenders & contracts if requested
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure that trust consolidation is complete and accurate for specified Trusts in the Group.
- Assist with annual audit process for each of the Trust.
- Other Adhoc tasks as directed by Financial Controller and CFO.
Treasury
- Assist with Treasury matters, including cash flow and capex forecasting.
- Assistance with regular interest payments and hedging for debt facilities.
- Preparation of annual and half-annual loan covenant compliance reports to banks for each of the Trusts.
Role Expectations
- Implement a timetable of monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables to ensure the tasks outlined above are delivered in a timely manner, as set out by the Financial Controller
- Ensure investors receive a timely response to any financial queries across the IPG portfolio.
- Ensure efficiencies are identified and implemented across the accounting function to achieve tangible benefits to the business, e.g. cost and time savings, use of new software solutions, and continual enhancement of internal controls in relation to the preparation of the month-end reporting packs for each of the Trusts.
- Contribute and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take ownership of the execution of the role’s responsibilities while keeping the Financial Controller informed and working productively with the Finance Team and other stakeholders.

About you
- Completed a Bachelor in Accounting/Finance.
- CPA/CA qualified
- Minimum three to five years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, management accounting, consolidation, and corporate tax concepts
- Exposure to financial accounting and analysis of financial statements.
- Intermediate Excel skills – ability to manage large excel spreadsheets and use intermediate level formulas.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with superior time management, with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a face paced, autonomous environment.
