Role Outline

The Financial Accountant is responsible for the production of the organisations financial reporting and for the fulfilment of other obligations such as tax and statutory reporting:
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce monthly financial reports, analysis and reconciliation.
- Supervise AR, AP and Payroll reports.
- Prepare and lodge IAS and BAS reports.
- Prepare and submit financial acquittals.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate insurance.
- Maintain ASIC reporting requirements.
- Prepare and lodge quarterly portable long-service leave.
- Review payroll period-end adjustments and reconciliations.
- Prepare biannual / annual budgets and initiate data entry.
- Monitor FBT implications of salary packaging arrangements.
- Prepare annual FBT return as required.
- Prepare and submit annual reports to ACNC.
- Liaise with external auditors and preparation of audit documents.
- Identify and implement financial process improvements.
- Review general ledger.
- Provide ad hoc finance tasks and other duties as directed.
Your Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in accounting.
- Recognised Accounting Degree.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with a deadline driven mindset.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies.
- Advanced computer software skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges and experiences.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
KSC1: Demonstrated ability and experience managing and preparing monthly accounts, budgets, and financial reports and statements.
KSC2: Demonstrated skills and experience managing financial systems and administration.
KSC3: Demonstrated capacity to research, analyse, and report on complex issues.
KSC4: Experience working as an internal business partner in a service delivery environment, and experience supporting managers to improve financial performance.
KSC5: Proven capacity to supervise and guide a professional multi-disciplinary work team.
KSC6: Highly developed communication skills including preparing well-researched reports and presentations.
