Financial Accountant
With two decades of experience in the industry, GCI Group stands as the premier authority in Laser cutting, fabrication and related services within the Australian Market.
Due to continued, steady growth across all areas of our business we are seeking to employ a Financial Accountant to complement our business. This position will report directly to the Managing Director and form part of the Leadership team.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the accounting operations for the business. You will be hands on in your approach transitioning the finance team to a new level supporting further growth and process improvement.
Your duties will be varied and interesting, ranging from, but not limited to:
- Day to day accounting
- Month-end financial and management accounting
- Assist procurement with inventory management cost reporting
- Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations - including quarterly BAS, superannuation, and insurances
- Supervise the Business Analyst and Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Provide technical accounting support and advice to enable informed business decisions
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and external Accountants establishing robust financial processes
- Assist with a collaborative financial planning and budgeting process
- Maintain integrity of financial and operational information within MYOB and other software
ABOUT YOU
This position is instrumental in driving positive cultural engagement within the GCI business. We seek a candidate with a “lead by engagement” philosophy, who is CA/CPA qualified (or working towards qualification) and ideally has previous experience in the manufacturing sector.
REQUIREMENTS
- Business/Commerce/Accounting Bachelor Degree
- CPA or working towards
- Experience in MYOB with advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Solid experience with Power BI
- 5-10 years’ experience, including experience in a similar role, or a Senior Accountant
- Strong analytical skills and a business acumen for problem solving and continuous improvement
- Document management experience
- Experience or desire in people management and leadership and the confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders
- Extremely competent with Microsoft Windows desktop platforms and accompanying technologies
