AddressQuinn Allan are excited to be partnering with a growing business in the Mining Services sector to recruit a newly created Financial Accountant position. This business is currently in an exciting phase of their journey, with growth and a number of exciting projects on the horizon.
The Financial Accountant will support the CFO and Finance Manager in a broad role that is orientated around month end, financial reporting and process improvement. The position would suit someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and help out in all aspects of the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and variance analysis
- Prepare and analyse half year and year end financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Assist with income tax returns, FBT returns, and preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS
- Work with external auditors during annual audits to provide documentation required and support as needed
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function
- Oversee the accounts receivable and accounts payable function and provide guidance and assistance where necessary
- Ad hoc analysis and project work where required, including involvement in an ERP implementation
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CA or CPA Qualified
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a relatable role with in-depth knowledge of financial and management accounting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
