Salary - $80K - $100k + Super
My client is a leading publisher of books in a wide range of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, and children's books. They are dedicated to publishing the highest quality books that inform, inspire, and entertain readers around the world. They are seeking an Accountant to join their team for a 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements and financial accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather financial data and provide support for financial analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies within the finance department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounting or financial roles, preferably within the publishing industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel.
- Experience with Bookmaster is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.
