The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant
- Prepares various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statutory statements.
- Prepares and submits monthly and quarterly regulatory surveys (APRA, ABS, NZ Statistics and NZ Reserve Bank)
- Prepares JDF quarterly regulatory reporting submissions to satisfy US SEC reporting requirements.
- Gathers, reviews, and analyses statistical information related to loan, and lease programs.
- Identifies issues/problems relating to accounting and finance core functions and resolves or suggests a form of corrective action for these issues.
- Partners with other departments to provide financial counsel and assists in answering questions and resolving issues.
- Custodian of the fixed asset register.
- Identifies and implements process improvement and automation within the Accounting and Finance team.
- Assists with ensuring tax/statutory requirements are met for JDF Income Tax Returns, transfer pricing and Fringe Benefit Tax.
- Supports internal control activities associated with month / quarter end schedules, including compliance with our Sarbanes-Oxley regime.
About You
With a strong expertise in process automation and statutory and regulatory reporting, you are an energetic self-starter who is an excellent team player who takes pride in their work and their working environment.
What Skills You Need
- 5 years or more years of work experience in accounting/finance related activities
- Well-developed skills and abilities in information technology with a high degree of competency in the use of accounting systems and other software including Microsoft Office, Excel (including Macro development) and being able to adapt to new systems.
- The ability to use strong analytical and problem-solving skills for a variety of work functions.
- Experience with financial modeling and financial statements.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), regulations, and best practices
- Good communicator, capable of translating numbers into something that non-finance people can relate to and act upon
- Proven SAP user experience

Education / Experience:
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- CA/CPA qualified or similar business qualification
