A specialist government agency requires a Financial Accountant with strong analytical skills.

Your new company

A high priority government organisation with offices in Parramatta is recruiting a Financial Accountant with an interest in financial analysis for this temporary contract role.

Your new role

Working in a busy team reporting to Senior Financial Analyst, duties will include:

• Monthly journal entries, prepayments and accruals
• Bank statement reconciliations and analysis
• Cost Centre analysis and recommendations
• Month reporting
• Expenditure review
• Cashflow forecasting
• Working with cost centre owners to identify opportunities and issues
• Assisting senior analysts with adhoc analysis and reporting

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you will have gained solid experience in financial accounting in a medium to large organisation with high volume transactions, multiple cost centres and projects.

You will be looking to step into an analytical role where you can use your strong technical financial accounting knowledge.
Key skills required include:

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong technical knowledge of reconciliations, journals and other financial accounting processes
• Excellent team player and communication skills
• Willingness to learn from the transactional level up, to then take on more complex analytical tasks in the future
• Solid systems skills including strong Excel
